Opportunity for Independent Practice
Cost Accountants can practice in the following areas:
·         In mandatory Cost Audit under Section 233 (B) of the Companies Act, 1956.
·         Certification under Export & Import Policy. 
·         Excise Audit under Section 14A of the Central Excise Act and Special Audit of Certification Of manufacturing account as per Customs Act. 
·         Consultancy Assignments. 
A Cost Accountant is a person who offers to perform services involving the costing or pricing of goods and services or the preparation, verification or certification of cost accounting and related statements.

This is offered by the INSTITUTE OF COMPANY SECRETARIES OF INDIA, a duly registered Institute by passing of an Act in parliament

About the Course
It is for a student who likes theory subjects more than the practical subjects. Though they are there, more weightage is placed on the theory subjects, especially having a law orientation. The candidate is expected to be conversant with Company regulation and corporate governance. The contribution of Company Secretaries is immense in interpretation of laws especially Company Law. The candidates are also expected to be experts in compliance with Company Law provisions.

Professionals like Company Secretaries cannot afford to become prisoners of the present, but have to take a hard look at the future. Layman tends to focus on the limitations set by the present whereas professionals need to visualize the sweeping changes in future and gear up accordingly. This is a good opportunity to find a spark in yourself and gives a good exposure in corporate world

A candidate can expect a pay package of three to five lacs (annual) initially at the entry level in the profession. There is no upper limit with the growth in experience and expertise

Chartered Accountancy

About the Course: You must be ready to work extra hard to become a Chartered Accountant. If you find yourself industrious, having good grasping power and a liking towards practical subjects, you are perhaps the right person to go for it. In India the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) does the job of regulating the profession of Chartered Accountancy, which was set up under the Chartered Accountancy Act, 1949

Career in CA gives you an entry into the profession at a managerial level with giant corporate. This is a reputed career and its importance has been growing steadily with the technological advancement in business systems. A chartered Accountant holds prestige in the society and earns handsomely

General Practice: It includes conducting audit and taxation related services. The Chartered Accountants are also required to assess the risks of the companies designing control system to counter those risks

Those who come out successful in CPT (Common Proficiency Test), IPCC and Final along with articles (training) and a 15 days course on General Management and Communication skills (GMCS) are eligible to apply for the membership of the Institute.
